Jencarlos Canela Visits Marlins Park, Prepares For Grand Slam Party Latino

Jencarlos Canela was at Marlin’s Park last night getting ready to have everyone dance at the Grand Slam Party Latino.

The Cuban-american singer practiced his performance on a stage he will be sharing with Ricky Martin, Alejandro Sanz, Prince Royce and other Latin singers.

Within his songs was his latest radio hit, Bajito.

“I know everyone is anxious to see us and it’s gonna be a great show,” said Canela, who also received a Miami Marlins shirt with his last name on the back.

On Thursday evening, Canela accompanied Eva Longoria, along with Ricky Martin and other stars at the launch of the Global Gift Foundation event in Miami.

The Hialeah native, now lives in Los Angeles and is currently co-starring along Longoria in NBC’s Telenovela series, which airs on December 7. He feels that the show is the next big thing for the Latino image in the Anglo-American entertainment industry.

“I want everyone to realize the importance of a series like the one we are doing: for the first time in history –of Anglo-Amercian TV–does a chain such as NBC have a series in English, with a Spanish title, and all of the cast members are either Latino or of Latino heritage,” said Canela, who will be playing Xavier Castillo in the show.

Working on the series with Eva Longoria, has signified a great amount of learning and growing for Jencarlos.

“Eva is one of the smartest people I have ever met in my life and one of the most prepared. She can probably teach me a thing or two about telenovelas,” said the actor who recently moved to Los Angeles, but will always have a soft spot for Miami.

“Miami is my home, but Los Angeles is now my second home,” he added.
